The application process is more involved for those without Global Entry. To use the shared benefits of NEXUS, remember your Global Entry card is only good for entry back into the U.S. and Canada, and having Global Entry allows you some of the benefits of NEXUS members. I used images of my NEXUS card in PDF format as the primary documents I submitted. NEXUS is the border protection program between the U.S. Once an account exists, the formal process of the application can begin. However, in order to make use of this the TTP website, you must set up a profile, whether or not you are a citizen or resident of the United States. From October 2017 onward, NEXUS members and future members must use the new Trusted Traveller Programs website. If not, there is not an easy way to retrieve it after that time The Global Online Enrolment System no longer exists.

I have a NEXUS card, which allows expedited entry into Canada,which comes with full Global Entry membership. The website is a bit confusing and the process seems a bit convoluted, but thankfully those with Global Entry have a somewhat simplified process. If you are a member of another trusted traveler program, such as Global Entry, NEXUS, or SENTRI, log on to the Trusted Traveler Program website to obtain your PASSID, which once again is the same as your KTN. Global Entry works great for US arrivals, but there are similar facilities elsewhere. Signing up for the Japan Trusted Traveler program is online. For those with Global Entry, this process has a minimal cost (2200 JPY ~US$20), and a simple application process. With Japan now offering a trusted traveler program, this is another program I’m interested in. Travelers with an ePassport from the listed countries can utilize the gates. In both Australia and New Zealand, holders of ePassports from the US, Canada, the UK, New Zealand or Australia can use the SmartGates without any sort of pre-registration. Global Entry works great for US arrivals, but there are similar facilities elsewhere.
